The main residence is surrounded by a courtyard with an octagonal tower, beautifully renovated and made into a private property. It has been restored to the highest of standards and designed to create a super luxury villa in total privacy, with 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.

The stunning interior decor and furnishings are matched with modern equipment and cutting-edge technology from high-speed wireless internet, to whirlpool bathtubs, to billiards. All bedrooms, each with their own decorative theme, are equipped with air conditioning and the most modern amenities including en-suite bathroom with bathtub and rain shower, telephone, safe, mini fridge, hair dryer, fine fabrics and luxurious drapes.

On the ground floor you will find a TV room, entrance hall, two bathrooms, living room with fireplace and satellite TV, and the billiards room. The bar is equipped with a professional Nespresso coffee machine, ice maker, glass washer, and fridge.

The Periwinkle master bedroom offers a with a queen-sized double bed or 2 twin beds, flat-screen TV and iPod dock station.
The Primrose bedroom, also located on this floor, has a queen-size double bed, with views over the garden and Tiber Valley.

The professional kitchen is exceptionally equipped with a professional dishwasher, freezer, fridge, grill made of volcanic stone, microwave, 2 ovens, 6 stoves, kneader, blender, toaster, food processor, professional Nespresso machine, dish washer, glass washer, and ice maker.

A comfortable living room and 3 bedrooms are on the first floor. The living room is packed with books, sofas, a fireplace, and a satellite TV.
The Tulip bedroom has a queen-size bed or 2 twin beds, with views over the courtyard and gardens.
The Peony master bedroom also has a queen-size bed, flat-screen TV, iPod dock station and views over the Tiber Valley, the courtyard and the church.
The Geranium bedroom has a queen-size double bed with views over the Tiber Valley and gardens.

The second floor is a covered panoramic terrace with sofas and commanding views over the courtyard, pool, gardens and the Tower.

The Medieval Tavern is on the lower ground floor, where you can find a large dining room table, telephone, PC, printer/copier/scanner and fax machine.

A second residence, called Sacristy, is on 2 levels. On the ground floor, you will find a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.
On the first floor, you will find the Myosotis bedroom and Sacristy 7Flowers triple bedroom, both with views over the courtyard and gardens.
In the Myosotis bedroom there is a queen-size bed or 2 twin beds, and in the Sacristy Flowers there is a queen-size double bed or twin beds and an additional single bed.

Within the estate you will also find a chapel. The church is large, still consecrated and can seat 70. Devoted to St Joseph, it has a beautiful frescoed wooden landing that once held a pipe organ.

The medieval large courtyard is surrounded by lemon trees and a number of sitting areas. It is perfect for a candlelit dinner. The large panoramic infinity saltwater pool feature fantastic hillside views. A broad wooden veranda, surrounded by jasmine and roses, complete with stone barbecue, is an ideal place for a lazy lunch or romantic evening dinner.

Pool and Spa

Infinity, very private, overflow saltwater pool, fan-shaped, featuring a cascade for water recycling and a broad wooden shelter. Made from white stone, it is 5000 sqm, and designed by the famous Tuscan landscape designer Alberto Margheriti. 14m x 7.5m
Inquire about our spa treatments for an additional fee, available upon request (to be pre-booked). Spa treatments include on-site invigorating massages, facials, and full-body special spa treatments with extra virgin olive oil and honey from the owner's farm; Watsu in the pool; and manicures and pedicures.

Special Touches

The 5000 sq m manicured gardens surrounding the castle were created by the famous Tuscan landscape designer, Alberto Margheriti, and are beautifully embroidered with local flowers flowers, pomegranate, olive, oak and cherry trees, aromatic herbs, lavender.

Good to Know

The villa is licensed to celebrate both religious and civil weddings on site. There is a beautiful church on the property, perfect for tying the knot. The pool is open from mid-May to the first Saturday in October.

How to get there

The private estate of Castello Bonaparte is an historic 1500-acre superb estate and natural reserve over the Umbrian Tiber Valley. it is occupied by 5 medieval castles in total, located on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, 18 km north of Perugia, conveniently close to Assisi, Siena and Cortona, almost equidistant between Rome and Florence. Just a 30-minute drive from Tuscany and within an hour's drive of the estate are towns such as Arezzo, Cortona, Siena, Montepulciano, Montefalco, Orvieto, Sansepolcro and Spoleto. Florence and Rome are within a 2-hour car ride.

Tuscany and Umbria epitomise the attractions of Italy: medieval hill-top towns, wonderful art galleries, museums and architecture, beautiful countryside reminiscent of landscapes in Renaissance paintings, not to mention delicious food and wine. The two regions abound with open-air concerts and operas during the long summer season and each town has its own little festival.

Castello Bonaparte stands secluded over a wide part of the Tiber northern Valley, a few km north of Assisi and Perugia, at 300 m over the sea level, in the centre of a superb 1500-acres estate and working farm. The Tiber northern Valley is also called “Museum Valley” because of its beauty, art and culture.

The Tower may be rented only in addition to the Main Castle. From July 24th to September 1st, the Castle and Tower must be rented together.
