Details

La Tenuta’s patina of the old mansion combined with its newly renovated, modern comforts makes one feel welcome instantly. Echoing its neoclassical roots, its exterior features wonderful stonework, grand proportions and unique details. Inside, its Southern Italian heritage is found in the stone vaulted ceilings and terrazzo or crushed concrete floors.

The living areas are composed of formal and less formal spaces. Harkening a Palladian villa, the formal entrance is striking with its octagonal vaulted space. The dignified dining room, connected to the outdoor terrace, boasts views of the olive orchards and vineyards in the valley - and ideal location to entertain a stately dinner party. If one is looking to escape the summer sun, refuge can be found in the small library, enjoying the stere sound system with MP3 player, passing the time in the TV area, or learning the art of Pugliese cuisine in the gourmet kitchen. The kitchen, fully-equipped with all modern comforts, is at the heart of the house, connected to the outdoor dining area in the portico which sits up to 12 comfortably, the formal indoor dining area, the gardens, and the pool area.

Each of the 6 bedroom suites are spacious, with extra large king-sized beds, sitting areas, ensuite bathrooms, and large windows to take in the views. Two of the bedrooms’ ensuite bathrooms feature freestanding bathtubs and double sinks. Every bedroom has air conditioning, more than enough wardrobe space, and a safe for valuables. Despite all bedrooms featuring modern comforts, each has its own personality through the design, decor, and interesting details.

There are two twin beds available for extra guests.

The property currently covers 10 acres and the gardens surrounding the villa have been landscaped with the best of the flora of the Mediterranean including olive trees responsible for valued extra virgin olive oils; fruit trees bearing figs, pomegranates, quinces, citruses, and prickly pears that are harvested to make homemade jams; an organic vegetable garden available to all guests to use as much as they would like; and formal gardens with Mediterranean flowering plants, herbs, roses, and cacti. The pergola is covered in edible grapes and the citrus orchard is filled with oranges, lemons, tangerines, and kumquats.
