Baita 1697 has been transformed from the run-down stable and barn that it was when the owners first saw it. This lovely chalet was restored in a way that respects and emphasises the traditional architecture, materials and original features, and has a beautiful combination of indoor and outdoor spaces on each of its three floors.

Furnishings meet and exceed luxurious standard, with custom-made Egyptian cotton bed sheets in each bedroom and bathrooms offering top range fittings, underfloor heatings and stylist hairdryers.

The large front door opens into a spacious open-plan area that occupies most of the ground floor — a grand expanse once home to the stone-vaulted stables. Designed for effortless entertaining, it can comfortably host over twenty guests. The generous sitting area, centered around a striking fireplace and furnished with an inviting L-shaped sofa, flows naturally into a more intimate dining area nestled within its own vaulted alcove. Adjacent to this, the kitchen is defined by a substantial island set beneath one of the connecting arches — an ideal gathering spot for conversation or enjoying an aperitivo beside the bar.

The extremely spacious living area is the heart of the house offering a wood-burning open fire and WiFi & iPod docking stations throughout. The media room, convertible to a double bedroom if required, welcomes to enjoy a movie from its international film/music library by open fireplace.

The first floor accommodates most of the sleeping quarters, featuring three en-suite bedrooms and a versatile room that can serve as a games or movie room, or convert into an additional double bedroom with access to a shared en-suite bathroom. The master suite enjoys its own beautiful sun terrace with direct access to the garden, while the other two bedrooms each open onto balconies that frame stunning views of the sunlit peak of Monte Banchetta.

The chalet offers fully furnished 5 bedrooms en-suite, a separate kids dorm that sleeps 6 kids plus a media room with a double bed for a maximum occupancy is 12 adults and 6 children (Kids bedroom for 6 little guests).

The top floor offers two additional master suites, a dedicated children’s area that sleeps up to six, and a spacious sitting room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the roof terrace and the mountains that frame the Val Troncea National Park. It’s an inviting retreat — perfect for a quiet read or a Negroni (or two) enjoyed from the comfort of the vintage leather armchairs.

After a day on the slopes or hiking, head to the roof terrace to enjoy stunning mountain views and a dip in the 8-person wooden hot tub.
